CREATIVE
TRANSLATION

Translating advertising is rather more than translating
texts of headers, advertisements, leaflets, TV sports, web pages,
banners, etc.
Translating advertising is translating "concepts", using the
right words... and not necessarily the same words as the original.
To do this, the translator must be creative and specifically trained,
with experience and a special talent.
This is writing to COMMUNICATE.

LITERAL
TRANSLATION
A literal translation is one that remains loyal to the original
(a business letter, a marketing plan, a presentation, a briefing,
a corporate video, a press note, etc.).
The translator can not add or remove words or concepts that alter,
reduce or enrich the original text, they must simply adhere to the
text.
This is writing to INFORM.
